Dan has been a North Carolina attorney since 2013. Before founding Sweeney Law he served as an Executive Director and Senior Vice President at a national bank, where he led teams responsible for identifying, evaluating, and mitigating legal and regulatory risks across a broad range of products and services. That experience informs his practical and disciplined approach to helping clients understand complex issues, evaluate their options, and make well-considered decisions.

Sweeney Law was founded as a community-focused practice committed to serving the people and organizations that make the Lake Norman area a wonderful place to live and work. The firm helps families plan for the future, assists older adults and their loved ones in navigating important decisions, and supports local businesses and charitable organizations. Dan and his family are proud to call the area home and value the lasting relationships and deep community roots they have established here.

Outside the office, Dan can often be found running along the local greenways or cheering on his daughter at her soccer games. For many years, he has been involved with the Charlotte Independence Soccer Club as a volunteer coach and, by his own admission, a very mediocre player in its North Meck Adult League. Dan is a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Huntersville and volunteers with Haven’s Foundation, a local charity serving children in the Lake Norman community and beyond.
